General
Conduct
All Driving Instructors are bound by a professional code
of conduct. I will be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual.
I will also conduct myself in a professional and ethical
manner at all times. My driving school car will be well
maintained, clean and tidy. It is fully duelled controlled
and fully insured for driving tuition. I comply fully with
the non-smoking regulations.
Driving Licence & Eyesight
Your Driving Licence must be produced on the first lesson:
it must be a valid provisional or full licence (depending
on the level of instruction you are receiving). The driver
must also be able to read a number plate at a distance of
20.5 metres (67 feet, which is about 5 car lengths) with
glasses or contact lenses if normally worn.
Payments
Payment may be made by Cash, Cheque or pay pal.
Block bookings must be paid in advance or cash on the day
of the first
lesson. Weekly lessons can be paid for on the day of the
lesson.
Refunds for any un-used block booking lessons will be refunded
less 10.00 pounds (This is for charges and administration).
Each block-booking course must be completed within 6 months;
no refund will be given after this time.
Lessons
I will only take pupils for their test if they have had
a course of lessons with me. Lessons will be for a minimum
of 1 hour's duration. Driving lessons are given on a one
to one basis. A record of every pupil's progress will be
kept. It is in your own interest to be punctual for your
lessons, I will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes before
the lesson will be abandoned and lesson fee forfeited. If
I am late, due to unforeseen circumstances, then you should
also wait 15 minutes. I will then either add on at the end
of the lesson, any time that is owed to you. If this is
not possible I will add it on to another lesson, or re book
the lesson at a more convenient time
Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation by the pupil at least 24
hours notice must be given, failure to do so may result
in the lesson being charged at the full rate. If I need
to postpone or reschedule the lesson the required 24 hours
will be given. I reserve the right to cancel your lessons
if I feel that the road and weather conditions are dangerous
and unsuitable, or that I have a Driving Test booked, this
being the case than I will re-arrange your lesson.
The
Test
The test can only be booked once I am satisfied that the
pupil is ready to take it. I reserve the right to withhold
the use of my car if in my opinion you are either dangerous
or potentially dangerous. This is done in the interest of
the customer and public safety. On the day of the test a
2-hour lesson must be booked to allow for the test itself
and a warm up period. During the warm up session both the
pupil and I will check that all bulbs required for the "Show
me tell me" questions are working correctly. Should
a bulb blow on the test every endeavour will be made by
me to replace the bulb in goodtime, in event of replacement
being unsuccessful the school will not be held liable for
any test fees lost as a result.
If on the day of your test it is cancelled by the DSA due
to bad weather, sickness or staff shortages the school will
charge for the test time. I cannot be held responsible if
the DSA cancel your test, through whatever reason.
Learner
Comfort and Safety
It is in your own interest to be comfortable, both with
your footwear and clothing. You do not want to wear anything
that will restrict your movement in any way. You must tell
me if you are on any medication, which may affect your ability
to drive safely. Please note that anyone who has the smell
of alcohol on his or her breath will not be allowed to drive,
and the money for that lesson will be forfeited.
I reserve the right to change or alter any of the terms
and conditions without notice, but will endeavour to inform
you of any changes as soon as possible.
